Series Information

Usagi transforms into Sailor Moon for the first time. Luna, Mamoru Chiba, Tuxedo Mask, Naru Oosaka, Gurio Umino, Queen Beryl, Jadeite, Haruna Sakurada, Ikuko Tsukino, and Shingo Tsukino are all introduced. Moon Prism Power, Make Up, Supersonic Waves, and Moon Tiara Action first used.

Motoki Furuhata first introduced. Gurio Umino and other boys from Juuban Junior High School are possessed by Youma Balm and become delinquents.

Usagi receives the Light na Hensou Pen and uses Moon Power ni nare the first time. In disguise as Jay Daito, Jadeite takes over a local radio station for a new program Midnight Zero. Each night he gives away a flower brooch that steals the energy of the wearer.

Paranoid about becoming fat, Usagi goes on a diet and joins a new fitness center called Gym Shapely along with her friends from school. The gym turns out to be a Dark Kingdom plot to steal energy.

Mika Kayama's first appearance. Luna is brought into the Tsukino home as the family pet. Sailor Moon uses Moon Tiara Stardust for the first time. The Dark Kingdom tries to steal energy by selling cute, bunny-like pets whose owners become obsessed with them.

Usagi meets jazz musician Yusuke Amade, who is being targeted by Youma Cyrene, and convinces him to confess his feelings for the woman he loves.

Usagi, Naru and Umino try to become celebrities by entering the Cinderella Caravan, an audition for new talent, emceed by popular idol Mikan Shiratori. The contest is secretly a Dark Kingdom plot to steal energy.

Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury's first appearance. Usagi meets Ami Mizuno, a girl of genius level intelligence. Luna suspects that Ami may be an enemy, but Usagi just wants to be her friend. Ami turns out to be the second Sailor Soldier, Sailor Mercury. Mercury Power, Make Up and Sabao Spray used for the first time.

Jadeite and the Dark Kingdom create chaos in Tokyo by distributing cursed clocks that alter the time perception of their owners. Sailor Mercury receives Super Computer.

Rei Hino/Sailor Mars' and Grandpa Hino's first appearance. While investigating reports of a disappearing bus, Usagi meets Rei Hino, a shrine maiden with unusual powers, who is revealed to be Sailor Mars. Akuryou Taisan, Mars Power, Make Up, and Fire Soul used for the first time.

Usagi, Ami, and Rei investigate a suspicious theme park, Dreamland, and its princess mascot, Dream Princess, who is actually Youma Murido. Rei meets Mamoru Chiba and mentions he could be Tuxedo Mask.

Rei wins a pair of tickets for a romantic cruise and asks Ami to join her, much to the dismay of Usagi. The cruise is actually part of a plot by Jadeite and one of Queen Beryl's personal Youma, Thetis. When the Sailor Soldiers win again, Jadeite gets an ultimatum from Beryl.

Jadeite is told to kill the Sailor Soldiers or face death, so he challenges them to a final showdown at the airport. He discovers the identities of the girls but loses the battle, resulting in Beryl putting him into Eternal Sleep. Nephrite appears for the first time.

Nephrite is officially appointed as Jadeite's successor and begins selecting targets for energy, the first one being Naru's friend Rui Saionji. Masato Sanjouin, Nephrite's alter ego, makes his first appearance.

Rei falls for Mamoru and persuades him to go on a date with her, making Usagi jealous and prompting her to drag Umino around with her as her "date" as an excuse to follow them. Nephrite targets the caretaker of a local park.

Usagi's home economics teacher, Higure Akiyama, is targeted by Nephrite and becomes obsessed with her wedding dress. Usagi uses the Light na Hensou Pen to disguise herself as a bride to enter a home-made wedding dress contest to save her teacher.

Nephrite targets a young photographer, Kijin Shinokawa, while Usagi tries to achieve her dream of becoming a model.

Shingo accidentally breaks his friend Mika's prize-winning French Doll. Mika is targeted by Nephrite. Rei goes on a second date with Mamoru.

Nephrite aims to trap Sailor Moon by sending fake love letters from Tuxedo Mask to all of the girls in Azabu-Juuban, but his plan draws the attention of Naru, who confesses her love for Sanjouin after guessing he sent out the letters.

Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Luna take a vacation to the beach in order to train, but the hotel they're staying at is haunted by a strange phenomenon not connected to the Dark Kingdom.

Nephrite uses his most powerful Youma, Castor and Pollux, to target one of the animators for the new Sailor V movie. Usagi, Ami, Rei, and Luna visit the animation studio to investigate.

Usagi, Tuxedo Mask, and Nephrite all infiltrate an embassy reception in hopes of finding the Phantom Silver Crystal and to investigate Princess Dia. After dancing together, Tuxedo Mask gives Usagi her first kiss.

With Naru hopelessly infatuated with Nephrite's alias Masato Sanjoin, Usagi is powerless to stop her friend from being used by the increasingly desperate general. Zoisite orders one of his Youma, Yasha, to attack Nephrite.

Naru becomes caught up in the power struggle between rivals Nephrite and Zoisite. Nephrite discovers Sailor Moon's identity, but after he is dealt a fatal blow by Zoisite's Youma, he says her identity will remain a secret. He realizes he also cares for Naru, and fades away in her arms.
