Character Information:Queen Beryl (Anime)
Queen Beryl first appeared in episode 1 of Sailor Moon, and was the Master of the Shitennou. In the past, Queen Beryl led the attack against the Silver Millennium. Using the power of the mysterious being Queen Metaria, she brainwashed the people of the Earth into hating the people who lived on the moon. Jealous of the power of the Ginzuishou and Prince Endymion's love for Princess Serenity, Queen Beryl murdered the princess and her lover. She, along with Metaria and the Shitennou, was sealed away by Queen Serenity.
Queen Beryl lay dormant until the Dark Kingdom's reawakening in the 20th century, coinciding with that of Sailor Moon and her guardians. The Queen was just as jealous and power-hungry as before, ruling over the Shitennou without mercy, and not hesitating to eliminate them if they outgrew their usefulness or tested her patience. She strived to collect energy and later the Ginzuishou in hopes of reviving her master Queen Metaria. She relied perhaps too heavily on her suboordinates and made little progress, despite the small successes of the Shitennou.
Queen Beryl made a drastic move toward the end of the series, and captured Endymion just after Princess Serenity awoke. Using Metaria's dark power, she brainwashed the Prince and was forced to fight for the Dark Kingdom. Beryl loved the opportunity to discomfort Princess Serenity and relished the time she had with Endymion. He was eventually purified, and Queen Beryl fused with Metaria and faced off with Princess Serenity. She was again no match for the power of the Ginzuishou and was eliminated.
Queen Bery did not make use of any disguises. She did change form when fused with Queen Metaria, however.

All Youma technically answered to Queen Beryl, but Thetis and the DD Girls were the only youma that reported directly to her.
